COST OF LEARNING TO FLY

STICK & RUDDER VS THE AVERAGE COMMERCIAL OPERATION

REQUIREMENTS:

•    Age: 16 to solo, 17 for license
•    40 hours (FAA minimum)
•    60 hours minimum (more realistic, 35 hours with instructor, 25 hours without instructor)
•    Ground School (to pass FAA written examination)
•    FAA Medical Certificate (before solo)

• Fuel farm — 10,000 gallon fuel tank permits bulk fuel purchases at reduced  costs. Reimbursement for cross-country fuel purchases at the Club’s fuel cost.

Winter Flying Advantages

• Free preheat for planes on our ramp.
• Free deicing for planes on our ramp.
• Some planes are placed in the hangar for early Saturday & Sunday morning flights.
